The normal stuff of life, magnified by seriousness and indecision, is the natural domain for motivational interviewing.

I offer individuals an opportunity to discuss troubling and unresolved dilemmas, using MI as the conversational framework. Sessions last an hour or two, and are held at a venue of the individual’s choice, including cafes, museums and parks, by phone or Skype – whichever is most convenient.

MI was developed to help us disentangle the knots that hold us fast. Typical predicaments have included: struggles to achieve a healthier lifestyle, concerns about drinking, difficulties at work, collapsing relationships, and ‘unmanageable’ teenagers.
